Eviction:
So of course, we survived the first court date. We didn't go to trial. We didn't get evicted. Nothing like that happened and nothing like that can happen for at least 2-3 months. But in reality, we really don't know what direction this case will go in - we need a GOOD lawyer. And, I'll need to start digging for a free one. Perhaps I can make a go fund me account for that - we'll see. Our case was adjourned for another month and a half. We will have the landlord come into our apartment (or their workers) at the end of the month to make repairs. Everything so far, more or less, went entirely in our favor. I am proud of myself for standing my ground, for saying what needed to be said (to the judge), and for asking for what I wanted.  It's relieving, and I feel a lot better. I'm still stressed about it, and that stress will probably not to go away, but this feels manageable.
I definitely have a lot of notetaking to do in order to prepare myself for what comes next. First things first, I have to email back Christopher (attorney) and bring him current on the situation. Then I want to go down to the welfare office again to see if we can get on short-term cash assistance until we get back on our feet. Right now, we're in a good place to push for public assistance because we have the pressure of housing court on our side, as well as unemployment. We have utility bills that can show the financial strain on us as well.
Jobs:
I\m trying to apply for jobs several times a week. Basically, the idea is to set email alerts for Linked In and Glassdoor, that way I can see relevant jobs in my inbox every morning and apply (with a premade cover letter) on a daily/semi-daily basis. I'd love an entry content writing job, but it's rough not really having *professional* writing samples, you know? But, I am still trying to work with what I have and give it a shot. I started a Writer Access account but ended up bombing the "General Writer" exam. There are a lot of questions regarding technical writing, and other types of writing professions that I simply am not qualified for. I don't even understand the questions enough to google the answers. (Which, of course, is cheating anyways. LOL.) However, my application is still under review until I better fill out the account information with work samples - which is going to be a challenge in itself. But, I am still going to try and see what I can come up with. I almost had an interview lined up for a receptionist position with a skincare place, but the person I was emailing was very slow to responding/confirming a time for this weekend, so naturally, I didn't get the information in time. I guess that's a good indication that they're not reliable. At least that's what I'm telling myself as I shake my head at the entire situation. LOL.
Blog:
I need a bigger following, a bigger, loyal, readership. Any ideas? So far, I've been using FB groups to kind of build a community with others bloggers. I have about 1200 followers on twitter, 70 likes on FB, 24 followers on Wordpress, and 83 email subscribers. I've worked on building content and I think that part is fairly solid - the writing is there, and I think it's unique and true to who I am. Now that I have ads on my blog, and I'm beginning to do affiliate marketing, I need a large and loyal readership that trusts me enough to click links and buy products! There is a lot of opportunities to make money right now because of the holidays. People spend so much money at this time of year. Everyone is digging for sales, ect. And, I'M going to deliver. At least that's the idea. I have a lot of ideas for Halloween for deep linking products in my posts (in a not-so-very advertising type of way). Candy, costumes, decor...baking...so many possibilities.
I have a lot of ideas just for this month! And, it's already the 10th, so I better get the hell with it!
I pulled this list of blog posts directly from this new app I've been using on Chrome called "Workflowy".
-Costume Deals
-Halloween Candy Deals
-Must-Try Recipes For October
-IPSY Glambag reviews (September)
-Individual product reviews WITH deep link of product (Amazon)
-Cheap Fall Decor Ideas
-DIY Projects for Fall
Chinatown adventure + mini-haul (from Friday).
On top of the blog posts, I also post (almost daily) on all my social media accounts. I make sure 3 posts are original content (not shares, retweets/reblogs). I make sure they're share-worthy. Visual. And relatable/useful. Another app I just love is Grammarly.

Anything to make writing and working more efficient is my friend...
Other life stuff + to-do list:
I've been feeling peaceful. I feel like I'm finally getting a grip on my life. When I say that, all I mean is...I feel in control. When I know I have to or should do something, I don't feel a lot of resistance. When it comes to taking care of needs like cooking, cleaning, and self-care, I am not struggling nearly as much these days. I cook when I need to eat, I shower when I need to, ect. I think getting out of the house and taking care of business has given me needed motivation. We've been spending a lot of time in Chinatown because of it, and it's been...refreshing. Much needed time out of the house. I cannot even tell you how much I need to get out of this apartment, out of this neighborhood. I've overstayed my welcome.
Here is everything else that I plan to get done sooner than later. (Also pulled from Workflowy.)

Man, it got cold literally overnight. It's 6:25a and it's FREEZING. In the 40's. The sun is finally coming up. Slowly as fuck. But I see the light coming through the bathroom window. This weekend was fantastic for relaxing and sleeping. It was cold and rainy! I mean, just PERFECT. Today, after I get some stuff done, I really want to NETFLIX AND CHILL w/ my tea and ramen!! Let's see if I don't pass out at noon again today. I slept like...8-9 hours yesterday. I'm really trying to push myself to stay up a bit longer each day until it's regulated again. *Wishful thinking It ain't gonna happen...let's be real. LOL.

Wow, that's a lot of followers!

You can write about how to dye foods using natural stuff (ex. chop up, freeze then boil spinach = green food dye), that's very halloweeny...

To get a loyal following all you need is to be in some niche and update pretty regularly.

I'm having trouble with school lately (as usual, though this time it's not entirely my fault) so I'm a bit more stressed/offline than usual... just gotta push through somehow....
