Court/Landlord/Eviction Follow Up

december_solstice1.) Another adjournment until mid-January! Basically, there was no progress made since the last court date, therefore, we really can't move forward with anything.
2.) Going to make a big effort to get a lawyer/attorney to represent us. I basically gotta call around. I got a bunch of numbers to call from the attorney we were getting legal advice from, but he kind of fell off some time ago. He stopped replying to my e-mails which suck, but I can kind of tell by the tone of his voice, that he's ready to retire us. *Sigh* We haven't even gotten started! I mean, 4-5 months and the case barely even started. Adjournment after adjournment. I'm not even going to probe him anymore, I'm going to find someone else.
3.) Try to make a payment on back rent, whatever we can, before the end of December. (without prejudice - which basically means...this doesn't affect the case in any way.) But, more as a "peace offering", I guess.
4.) Apply for a 1-shot deal. Go to back-to-work program (if applicable - hoping I DO get this job). Try again for cash assistance.
5.) Another attempt on the repairs after Thanksgiving. I'm not really holding my breath :/ I gotta clean and get things looking nice before then. I have more than enough time.
6.) Possibly call the building manager. Their attorney said, "Talk to him - he's a nice guy." *vomit* I wanted to tell him, "Hey, I'd like to believe you, heck, I WANT TO, but I don't trust him or anyone really - not even you." LOL. But of course, I didn't. Duh. There is just so much that has happened between us. At this point, I can't trust the other side in any way :/
