Another landlord update
Sep. 8th, 2016 05:23 amToday I received ANOTHER 5-day notice (pay this or I will sue you), as well as a 30-day debt collections notice. First things first, the 5-day notice wasn't even received until the time frame was up. On to of that both notices were dated 2 weeks ago, yet not mail stamped until the 2nd, and of course, not arrived until the 7th (which is when the 5-day notice expired). We still have not received a rent ledger, which I am entitled to have by law. We also haven't received any correspondence in regards to the letter my attorney sent on the 24th of last month.
While I had this fresh on my mind, I decided to dig online for more information. First things first, the landlord, the owner of the building really is this real-estate company, it is NOT a secondary entity that THEY work for...which is what I've been sort of "tricked" into believing all this time. Company is FOUNDED by a singular person, and OWNS several properties. I think close to 10 total. They actually own that entire block, if you can believe that. I was even able to get a copy of the most recent title/deed of the property. Can you believe that? (Seriously, there is nothing I can't find/get my hands on if I'm determined enough.) Get this though, the landlord SOLD this property around the same time this all began. I don't know what that will mean for us. Apparently Chase Bank owns the building now. Imagine how they'd react if they knew I had copies of their mortgage? They'd probably shit their pants.
I also went ahead and printed/scanned/made copies of anything I haven't yet.
