....Also yeah, technically fermented and pickled is the same (except that pickled uses WAY more salt, and sometimes sugar - fermented stuff uses no salt or just enough to keep the worst bacteria away) except that STORE-BOUGHT pickled things aren't fermented. Because it's just the same as with pasteurized dairy products, they basically make it so it stays the same forever and doesn't ever actually break down and get healthier for you, because they want to keep it on shelves longer. So it's just the same as storebought dairy in that there's basically nothing healthy left when it's storebought pickled stuff, they've removed all the healthy bacteria, and that's basically why people have a wording difference between "pickled" and "fermented" most of the time online...
